this: To look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”
Jas. 1:27.
Things
God said he will do
To
the man who please Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and
happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of
gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the
one who please God. This too is meaningless, a chasing
after the wind”. Ecc. 2:26.
For
I will give you words and wisdom that none of your
adversaries will be able to resist or contradict” Lk.
21:15.
Mission
Statement
Hand
for God is a non-profit making and non-government
organization under the auspices of Resurrection Hour
Bible Church. Woman that have lost their breadwinners go
though a lot of traumatic experiences including the
stigma the society attach to them. Stigmas that leave
them open to attacks. Death is a necessary end according
to William Shakespeare but the ability to cushion off
the pain and the despair depends on the society. We have
witnessed occasions where relations of a dead man do not
have witnessed occasions where relations of a dead man
do not even wait for the man to be accorded burial rites
before pouncing on the hapless widow, grabbing any thing
at sight without giving the slightest thought to what
becomes of the widow and what future awaited the
children.
The
harsh reality of fending for the family, especially when
children left behind are still juvenile case has thrown
such widows and the fatherless children into untold
hardship and unrelenting suffering. A breeding ground
for poverty and lack children from homes illustrated
thus rather being at school with their peers where their
futures are molded, instead are subjected to child
labour, for example as hawkers on the high ways, motor
parks, as bus conductors, etc. these places are no
breeding place for decent members of society. No wonder
there is so much insecurity in the land because what
goes around comes around. Invariably, society is left
with frustrated families endangered by poverty and
crime. Is God happy with this situation? Some of us have
enough to eat and remnants thrown in the trash bin. Some
of us have home in the choicest part of our cities
around the country and even beyond the shores of this
land, yet some of these widows have had their property
thrown out into the street for coming up late with the
house rent. Some of the male children end up sleeping in
the open, under our bridges, motor arks and the female
amongst them end in motels and hotels. Tales of ill
treatment from relative, landlords, employers and
society in general has left hearts a breeding place for
criminality.
This
organization positions to bring the mirror over our face
as a nation so we can all have a good look a ourselves
and see us the way we truly are. A nation that is yet to
open up her bowel of compassion so that those at the
dreg of the society will not feel the pain of what they
are passing through. We are not talking about the
governments in their different levels. For they do have
their limitations in this area although they to have not
been forth coming in those duties that they are
statutorily obligated.
We
are poised to unlock and try to open the nation’s
bowel of compassion to strengthen widows.
Objectives
of the organization
To
gather widows across the length and breadth of this
nation into a formidable work force, disciplined with
high sense of integrity, the ability to forge ahead
despite all odds and the determination to succeed. To
absorb the shock by the new reality aimed at
establishing the family head and breadwinner from the
work place and even in the farmland.
To
promote training and skill acquisition to turn members
from position of weakness to position of strength, by
applying the survival in instinct and pursuit for
self-determination. To engage in importation/acquision
from manufactures, in the short-term of commodities and
distribute it to our members as instrument of war
against poverty.
To
engage in mechanized farming on co-operative basis, each
state growing such food/cash crops in which they have
comparative advantage, not only to feed the nation but
also to supply the industrial needs of our factories in
agricultural raw materials inputs. We intend to operate
our own mills.
A
nation that cannot feed itself is at the mercy other
Nations. Our widow’s
diligent and skillful force automatically becomes a
willing tool in a dormant but all-important sector of
the economy, agriculture.
To
promote the needs for continue education in our
membership as a probable link to development of a
sustainable democratic values with its attendant
economic benefits. To set up a legal department to
assist the widows on issues that needs legal opinion and
advocacy.
Our
Vision
“Let
the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich”
We seek to impart into the consciousness of our nation
the phenomena of widowhood not being a pedestal of
weakness but of strength through the chain of networking
with absolute resolve of breaking the vicious hold of
poverty over our people.
It
is our vision to make Widows taste honey from a rock
situation after all spring of water will from the desert
flow. Because lily is also found in the valley, it is
not finished yet fro the widows whose large families
constitutes the greater percentage of the impoverished
society.

The
organization seeks to put into effect, the mission and
vision enumerated above, through following methods.

Mobilization
into units in all LGA with Weekly meetings in prayer
sessions. Ours is a prayer oriented organization, so
that we can arrest and sanitize the spiritual forces
thereafter direct the physical things in order to
receive results.

Training
and counseling
Working in partnership with other churches,
charity organizations
·
Research,
publication and education.
·
To
collaborate with organization/individuals with special
zeal for the welfare of widows and for the weak
generally in the society.
